Vera Stegmann is Associate Professor of German in the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures. She specializes in 20th and 21st century German literature, film, and theater. She has published a book about the dramatist Bertolt Brecht and his musical aesthetics, as well as articles on film music and on East German cinema. Her recent research focuses increasingly on the use of media in contemporary culture. She regularly teaches courses on German cinema.
